The Card That Won!

I am still dancing, people. Dancing around this house. And, no, it’s not to keep myself warm during this FREAKING COLD Saskatchewan winter, though it helps. It’s because I was one of many lucky prize winners during House of 3’s amazing birthday giveaway! And this is the card that won..
I made it using some of their amazing and beautiful printables for my DDs 10th birthday last year. She loved it, and I did, too. It always feels great to give something that comes handmade from the heart.
And what did I win? $100 to spend at Houseof3.com! WAHOO!! Now you know why I’m dancing. I think I may just own the entire store by the time I’m done my shopping spree. Talk about inspiration overload! I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – if you want to win a contest, you need to enter! You never know what surprises may wait just around the corner!
And just so you know, Houseof3 is having a Valentine’s sale! EVERYTHING at hof3 is 30% off!! Just visit the site and use the code love30 at checkout. Happy crafting!

Some Scrapbook Pages and A Card!

My scrapbooking bug bit me this week and I went to work creating some new layouts. It always helps to have some super fun photos to work with, and when I saw the photos from TJ’s birthday party, I knew I had to create with them!

For these I went with a floral/hawaiian theme, and I love how they turned out. I wouldn’t normally have put reds, pinks, and greens together, but I love it! I used my silhouette machine to cut out my titles and other accents. SO LOVE THIS MACHINE!

Speaking of the silhouette. Heidi Swapp is having her Wednesday Webshow tonight and she’ll be getting us all Silhouette Savvy! I’m tuning in for sure!

I also worked on a couple of layouts from our summer vacation last year (I know, I know – so behind). I’ve only got, I think, 2 more layouts until my entire summer vacation album us complete. PHEW! It will be such a nice accomplishment.

Again with the silhouette. I cut out the ‘splash’ accents as well as the title and the bookplate type shape in the above layout. I also used the butterfly from Houseof3 Spring Junque sticker set. LOVE IT! It’s hard to see in this shot, but it’s 3-D.
In the one below, I cut out the title and that AWESOME flower on the silhouette. I added some bling to make it sing (groan) and some hinges also cut from the silhouette. WHAT did I do before I had this thing?
Anyway, that’s all for layouts. I did want to share this sweet card I made for TJ’s birthday using Houseof3 Happy card kit. I just printed out two, cut out the cake, adhered it with pop dots, added some ‘candles’ and voila! She loved it.

Now I’m planning a Scrapbooking night with my gal pals, so hopefully there will be more creations to come soon! Thanks for popping by 🙂

Digital Brushes Rock!

Thanks to a cute little gal named Rhonna Farrer, I’ve fallen in love with digital brushes ALL over again. It’s like stamping, only you have MORE control and you can easily fix mistakes with a simple ‘undo’! The colors are limitless and you can choose any size you’d like! You can layer them, warp them, recolor them, the ideas are limitless!

I made a few cards in no time!

I used a phemomenal brush kit designed by Rhonna, which you can purchase HERE at House of 3. We’re talking over 100 brushes, and they are GORGEOUS!

I think what I love the most is how they are designed to work with each other to create works of art. The layers mix and match, and are OH so chic.

I can’t WAIT to play a little more. If you are new to digital brushes, stay tuned for a new tutorial coming on Tuesday where I’ll walk you through loading and using digital brushes. Until then, have fun playing!
