Celestial Lips By Sandy – I’m a believer!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you have heard of LipSense! I know I started hearing about it from friends and others on social media, and I just had to give it a try!

I recently started working at an eye clinic and I talk to people all day. I also aim to look professional and have been (ack!) applying makeup every day. Most of my makeup stays put, but my lipstick never does. And honestly, I just don’t have time to stop and re-apply every ten minutes. Enter, LipSense!

I have a friend in my area (you can find her facebook page HERE) who made it possible for me to try this amazing product first. She was such a dream to work with – she came right over to my house and explained how this stuff works.

LipSense is an amazing departure from conventional lipsticks and lip colors found on the market today. It comes in a wide variety of shades and textures with over 50 shades that can be to mixed and matched to create a number of effects. This unique product is waterproof and does not smear off, rub off, or kiss off and can last anywhere from 4 to18 hours. LipSense is a non-wax, liquid lip color that stays on the skin and provides a natural, mechanical shield from the elements.

Sandy sells this starter pack for $67 –  you get a lip color, gloss, and Oops Remover. Great deal, especially with how long this stuff lasts. IMG_4529 copy

She helped me and my daughter pick out a shade we each love – and it wasn’t easy! There were SO many cute colors, and the fact that you can layer them for hundreds of unique looks didn’t help. Thankfully, I knew I could buy any other color I wanted in the future, so I settled on Pink Champagne, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

This is a nice neutral pink with NO orangey undertones, which is perfect for my skin tone. It looks a lot like my natural lips, just a little more pigmented and with a fun shimmer effect. Perfect.

My daughter chose Beige Champagne

This one is a tad warmer, but still very neutral and compliments her skin perfectly. She chose a matte gloss with hers, which she can totally pull off. I went with a glossy gloss for mine, and I love it.

And this stuff is no lie! IT STAYS PUT! It was different to apply than ordinary lips sticks – sort of reminded me a bit of nail polish, in that you apply coats and wait until the first coat is dry before applying the next. With each coat, the colors become more vibrant. My lips tingled a bit when applying, but once the last coat is applied, you add the gloss and it’s the most amazing feeling. It feels like it should rub off like any other lipstick, but it really doesn’t!

I’m sold.

I’m intrigued by the other beauty products Senegence produces – like their eye shadows and even sunless tanner! If they work as well as the lipstick, then I can’t wait to get my hands on some!

Sandy ships anywhere in Canada and she’s a dream to deal with. Seriously. If you’ve been toying with the idea of trying LipSense, check out Sandy at Celestial Lips By Sandy and place an order! You won’t be disappointed. I’d love to see photos of your LipSense colors, too! Use the hashtag #CelestialLipsBySandy so I can find you!

Dry Erase Menu Board – with free printable!

Menu planning as always been a bit hit and miss for me, but whenever I do it, my week seems to go SO much smoother. And I’ve discovered a cute idea that really helps me get my menu planning act together – a dry erase menu board!

So, I found a 12X12 picture frame at Michaels about 3 years ago that matched my kitchen nicely and it was on clearance! I brought it home and cut out some black vinyl with the days of the week and a “menu” title. I cut it out backward so I could adhere it to the back of the glass and it would read correctly. Then I used a piece of 12×12 scrapbook paper I had on hand and put the frame together. Voila! A dry erase board where I can write our menu each week and have it on display in my kitchen.

I only plan out my supper menu – our breakfasts and lunches are basically set and the kids fix their own. Planning out my supper meals helps SO much. I start on Saturday and take a quick inventory of what we’ve got in the fridge that might need to be used up. I also take a peek in the pantry and freezer as well. I also take a glance at our family’s schedule for the week so I can plan around the busy nights.

Then I look through my cookbook and decide on what we’ll be having and write it down with a dry erase marker. Super easy to change if I need to. Then, I can see well in advance what’s coming up and I can do a grocery shop, and make sure I’ve got the right things defrosted etc. in time for cooking each day.
