Some Fall Fun!

Autumn is my absolute FAVORITE time of year! The crispness to the air, which makes putting on a sweater totally kosher. The amazing color everywhere you look. The smells of apples, spices, and leaves that permeate the air. This is the most amazing season!
Our tree decided to opt out of the brilliant color fashion show and drop every one of it’s leaves FAR before the others on our street. Well, when the world hands you leaves…you jump in them! But first…some serious tree-climbing needs to happen while daddy rakes up a pile.

Who needs monkey bars when your little monkeys prefer tree limbs to swing on?
Just make sure to take your heart medication before you watch how high your little monkeys want to climb!
And put away those OCD tendencies when your kids want to roll in the leaves which are probably crawling with…wait, I put away those OCD tendencies….
But it makes for some fun photos! (ew.)

Oh, to be a child again and not care what creepy crawlies you are covering yourself with from head to toe (dang it,..maybe I should embrace the OCD)

And if that’s not enough…those leaves are begging to be thrown sky-high, danced in, rolled in, jumped in, and in all other ways PLAYED in…thoroughly.

But wait…we are missing someone! Someone tiny, cute, cuddly, and black and white. Someone who looks on longingly while the rest of us play. Oh, who will rescue Pebbles?

Finally! A kind little girl put Pebbles’ leash on and she is ready for some leaf-romping!

Who could say ‘no’ to a face like that?

More leaf – jumping madness to be had!

 …by all 🙂

Lamp Silhouette Pictures

Happy Tuesday!
I’m happy to share a SUPER quick room decor project that can be customized for any room, with any theme, in any color. It’s silhouette art! If you have a craft cutter, this will be super easy…if not – just sketch an outline of any shape you like, cut it out in black cardstock, then glue it to some patterned paper that matches your room. Voila! Simple and fun art. I used old frames I had around the house and some bright and fun scrapbook paper that matched my youngest girls’ bedding. Isn’t it fun?
I used the shape “lamps_1_1” and used only the silhouette shape without the second top pieces. This took just minutes to make and I love what it added to my girls’ room!

Quilted Pot Holders

I think I’ve mentioned my love affair, haven’t I? The one I’ve been having with Pinterest? I find myself browsing, pinning, and being inspired during every free minute. LOVE! My latest find was a little site called “A Pretty cool life”.  I found these adorable pot holders that take only minutes to make.

I knew I had some cute scrap fabric around, and I even had the quilt batting, too! This project was going to be made. Turns out I didn’t have enough to make two matching holders, so I made a set of coordinating ones, instead. Here are mine!
I went for the funky and fresh look 🙂 I mean, zebra print? Makes me want to get cooking! I switched up the fabric for the little loops so they really look like a set 🙂

So, now all I need is something HOT to put on them! Any ideas?
Happy pinning and Happy crafting!!
